Water Baths and Spa Culture from the Ottoman Era to the Republic
On December 10, 2024, a panel titled “Water, Bathhouse, and Spa Culture from the Ottoman Era to the Republic” was held. The panel was jointly organized with the valuable contributions of Balıkesir University's Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ottoman Heritage Application and Research Center, and Tourism Research and Application Center. Prof. Dr. Düriye BOZOK, a faculty member from the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of the Faculty of Tourism, served as a panelist, while Prof. Dr. Gülay ÖZDEMİR YILMAZ, a faculty member from the Tourism Management Department, moderated the panel. The culture of water, bathhouses, and spas from the Ottoman era to the Republic was examined from the perspectives of different disciplines, including tourism, literature, history, and health. The panel was attended by the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Ahmet KÖROĞLU, faculty members, and students.
